Can Chickens And Pups Co-Exist? You're Going To Love This Video!

For those of us who own bigger pups, we may already be very used to our pups enthusiastically lunging at animals smaller than themselves. For example, the squirrels in the backyard!

This is because most pups have what is called a prey drive. Pups, after all, are predators – it is understandable that they will want to go chasing after potential prey.

So when viewers of this particular channel saw videos of this couple’s German Shepherd pups hanging out quietly in peace with the free-roaming chickens, they can’t help asking questions. Just exactly how did they get the two to co-exist? How are they not having these pups chase down these birds?

These trainers explain it as thus – it is a process of socialization, one that has to start from puppyhood. They then proceed to explain about it in further detail, and the steps they took in order to teach these pups how to react to chickens!
