Woman, her two sons and their dachshund were brought to safety from the Coast Guard helicopter. Their family’s boat ran aground near Sunday Beach on Matagorda Island.

The incident was reported about 2 p.m in an isolated location in Pass Cavalla on Matagorda. Fortunately, the Coast Guard reacted quickly, and landed on the beach to pick up the family and take them to Station Port O’Connor.
