A while ago, a sheriff’s deputy stumbled across a shivering little pup with his muzzle and paws bound with duct tape. The poor thing had been dumped and abandoned for around 12 hours on a very silent ditch near a road in Jefferson County, Missouri.
The deputy hurried the pup, now named Jimmy, to the nearby Ivan Animal Hospital. Starving, the pup had to have all the duct tape very slowly and precariously removed. Luckily, the deputy had the idea of saving the tape, and he brought it back to his work’s evidence technicians in their lab.
A fingerprint was soon discovered, clear as day over the sticky side of the tape. It wasn’t long before the fingerprint was able to lead authorities to the man responsible.
Paul Garcia was his name, and he was arrested on charges of animal abuse due to allegedly tying up the pup and throwing him from his car, which he confessed to. He remains in custody, and police officers are currently working out a potential motive, and how little Jimmy was able to wind up with him.
Jimmy’s actual family has yet to be found and their identities unknown. In the meantime, Jimmy is working on recovery, and his prognosis is definitely positive. He has a bit of a head tilt now, so he may have some balance issues, but he’s a happy pup who is gaining weight and being active.
