Creative Dog Grooming Is A Thing, And Many People Are Confused

To most of us “well-groomed” is the status we desire for our four-legged friends. We see it as a reference to a clean and neat dog. But “well-groomed” is a new sensation of a different kind that has recently hit the screens. A documentary series.

Now, you would probably be inclined to think it is a series about how to groom your dog, right? Not entirely! Well-Groomed is a series about competitive and creative dog groomers! Now, what exactly does this entail?

Well Groomed is a show where these competitors’ dye, shape and groom their four-legged friends as creatively and skilfully as possible. This documentary follows four women who are preparing to enter a big competition in Pennsylvania.

According to one viewer, what is seen is unbelievable! The colors, cuts, and shaping are out of this world. There are dogs colored and shaped like cartoon characters, themed movies (such as Jurassic Park), and even chickens.

Who would have thought! To some people, there is a voice of concern. They feel this competition, or similar competitions like these, are bordering on animal abuse and should be stopped from happening.

Judging by the way it is seen, the dogs are not hurt or injured in any way. However, this is one documentary and one does not see the other participants. It is difficult to say whether it is abuse or not, as one cannot judge unless you are there.

Hopefully, this competition is just an artsy, fun environment. I’m confused about how to feel about this. How do you feel about this? Would you support it or deny it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
