Disturbing Video From Behind The Scenes At "A Dog's Purpose" Shows German Shepherd Being Forced Into Turbulent Water

You may have heard of a movie entitled “A Dog’s Purpose”, which is coming out sometime this month and features several dog actors performing scenes and stunts.

One of these talented pups, a German shepherd named Hercules, may have allegedly been mistreated on set!

The pup was meant to perform a stunt where he jumped into rushing water, but seemed very unwilling to do so. He was, however, forced into making the jump, and then appeared to be in danger of drowning!

Footage of this incident was released by TMZ, and it was quickly spotted by American Humane, an organization that protects the wellbeing and safety of animals used in TV and film productions. “When the dog showed signs of resistance to jumping in the water, the scene should have been stopped,” they said in a statement to CNN.

The producers of the movie maintain that they “followed rigorous protocols to foster an ethical and safe environment for the animals.” They added, “On the day of the shoot, ‪Hercules did not want to perform the stunt portrayed on the tape so (we) did not proceed with filming that shot.” As of now, the authenticity of the video has not been verified, and most importantly, Hercules the pup is safe, happy and healthy today.
