Dog Attacked By Another Dog Recovers After Being Left For Dead

Dogs are sweet and lovely. However, sometimes they can also be mean, even to themselves. A dog, Watger, was brutalized recently by another dog who attacked him, leaving him in very bad shape.

Following the horrific attack, Watger’s family left him for dead. Initially, they tried to take care of the injuries he sustained. However, when he failed to get better immediately and saw they didn’t have money to get him the proper medical attention he needed, they turned their backs on him.

Thankfully, Sidewalk Specials, a South African animal rescue, came through and intervened. They took Watger to their shelter, where they cared for him and helped his injuries to heal.

When Watger became well again, the rescue returned him to his family.

Sidewalk Specials shared a video of the dog on their YouTube channel. They wrote: “Keeping township dogs with their loving families is always first prize – not only does it educate the township community on responsible pet care, but it also prevents another animal from entering an already overflowing welfare system.”

While some viewers commented and questioned the rescue’s decision to return Watger to his family after they abandoned him following the serious injury, the rescue explained that they couldn’t provide a home for all distressed dogs. They added that the best they could do was “uplift and sterilize to prevent future suffering.”
