Dog Dad Interrupts Girlfriend's Maternity Shoot Just To Be With Her!

Cue in the ‘awww,’ please! With a winter storm on the way, Gateway Pet Guardians knew they had to take immediate action when they heard about two stray dogs, that lived together in an abandoned house.

The rescue team wanted to get the pups into the safety of the facility before the cold wave hit. Sadly, the dogs were already spooked, so they kept running away until three days later, they finally made it to safety. However, it was at this moment that their rescuers found out the pups were going to be mom and dad!

The workers at the rescue named him Papa Memphis and her – Norma Jean. As they both realized they were safe and sound, they became closer to their rescuers and seemed happy to be away from the cold and the storm. Moreover, they now had a safe place to have their babies.

Brittany Fleming, who is the adoption and foster manager for Gateway Pet Guardians, shared that the couple was afraid at first. However, in her opinion, the beauty in rescuing pups like these is in the way that you gain their trust and they relax around you. The same night that they got brought in, the couple spent the night on an air mattress with two of their rescuers, who were confined there with them due to the storm.

The next day Norma was examined. Everybody realized that she was due to have her babies soon. Then the workers at the rescue had a brilliant idea – a maternity shoot for the soon-to-be mom. Papa Memphis was invited too. Both were thrilled to be out of the kennels and to hang out with everybody before the time came for their parental responsibilities.

They definitely enjoyed themselves a lot! Norma ended up taking a nap, while Memphis kept asking for more and more pets, which their rescuers were very generous with.

After they took many adorable photos, Norma was ready to go to her foster home. She was going to leave the next day in hopes that she can have her babies, not in a shelter. However, no one anticipated that the baby pups had made a different plan.

The next morning, before Norma could leave for her temporary home, she gave birth. All her puppies are an exact copy of their Papa Memphis. Now the happy family are in their foster homes and are doing very well.

Once the puppies are no longer being nursed, both they and their mum will be up for adoption. Their dad already is. Everyone is very happy to see that they are doing so well.
