Dog Waits At Shelter For Over 700 Days With No Adoption Appointments

In 2019, Coca was brought to Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) when his family had moved from Connecticut to Pennsylvania and decided they could no longer care for them.

It was the shelter’s hope that they could find a new family for Coco but their dreams have not been realized. At this point, it has been over 700 days since Coco arrived at the shelter and he’s still waiting. Till now, he has not had a single adoption appointment and no one has seemed to be interested in him.

In reality, Coco is a very sweet dog. He’s a bit shy, but once he warms up to people, he’s simply adorable. The shelter staff suspect that this is the reason the process is taking so long for him.

He doesn’t trust strangers and is very cautious. Once he realizes that everything’s okay, he is very playful and goofy. He loves to give kisses and can fit in once given time to adjust. Most people are looking for a dog that will fit in right away, but Coco just needs a chance.

Since he’s been at the shelter so long, it can be hard for him to relax. It’s a high-stress environment with so many other dogs around and he is clearly not settled. He is used to the routine, but it almost seems like he has given up on life.

The shelter staff hates seeing him this way. They hope he can get adopted before he completely gives up. If you’re interested in knowing more about Coco, you can contact Main Line Animal Rescue here.
