Dog Who Couldn't Move Because Of Extremely Matted Fur Gets A Lifesaving Makeover

The loyalty of our canine companions goes beyond that which humans could ever show. Through sickness and health, they are sure to be next to us.

In some instances, they even stay by their parent’s side even once they have passed on. In a case in Nebraska, a dog parent passed away leaving her dog behind. Her precious dog still remained at her home, and nobody knew she was there. One day, cleaners came to sort out the house of the lady that had passed on, and what they found was astounding. In a corner of the house was a massive furry mass that could barely move. Upon close inspection, the cleaners noticed it was a dog.

The dog turned out to belong to the deceased and was named Ellie Mae. Ellie’s fur was grown to the point that it almost engulfed her entire body and her nails were so long they had curled over her paws. The cleaners brought Ellie to the Nebraska Humane Society. Upon arrival, the team working there could not even make out what breed Ellie was because of her poor condition. They sedated her and began the work to give her the makeover of a lifetime.

Hours later, the team had managed to carefully cut her nails and shaved the matted fur off her body. The fur they removed weighed almost as much as she did, and inside they found a Shih Tzu mix with beautiful brown eyes.

Due to the inability of Ellie Mae to move, she had very poor muscular strength and her joints were badly affected. The team worked hard to help her back to health and Ellie Mae is ready to find a new home.

It truly is remarkable to see how life-changing a makeover can be!
