Dying Pup Was All Smiles Because He Didn't Want To Miss His Best Friend's Wedding

A fur ball is, to his Mommy and Daddy, an integral part of the family.

That’s why it was so important for Kelly O’Connell of Denver, Colorado to have her beloved black labrador pup Charlie Bear by her side when she got married. But it wasn’t easy. 15-year-old Charlie had been fighting a brain tumor for months, and by the time Mommy was tying the knot, he was very weak.

He was led down the aisle by Mommy’s sister and maid of honor Katie Lloyd, but halfway through, he became too exhausted to go on. That’s when Katie picked up the 80-pound pup and carried him the rest of the way so he could be with Mommy. Aww!

Kelly and her husband James Garvin are veterinarians, and the bride shared on a Facebook post, “When your beloved dog who is at the end of his life can’t make it back up the aisle and your sister scoops him up and carries him …. THAT is love.

There isn’t enough mascara in the world for these moments. Dog people are the best people.” And I can’t agree more!

Rest in peace, Charlie Bear! You’ll meet Mommy again someday.
