When the Swindle family got off their flight to Kansas City from Portland on the 13th of March, they were eager to pick up their pup Irgo the ten-year-old German shepherd, who had been flying with other pet kennels. But when they opened up the carrier, it was a Great Dane who came ambling out.
Somehow, this dog and Irgo’s carriers had been mixed up and gone onto the wrong flights – and now Irgo was more than 10,000 miles away in Japan! United Airlines quickly worked to rectify their mistake, which they fully apologized for, and gave Irgo premier treatment on his own private chartered flight back to his family.
Finally reunited, the Swindles family hugged and kissed their precious pup, whose tail just wouldn’t stop wagging. Tears of joy were shed and the whole family was just relieved to finally be back together. Irgo went on one big adventure all by himself, but he’s glad to be back with his Mom and siblings!
