Family Opens Their Home To Shelter Dogs Who Can't Get Space Due To Capacity Issues

Dakota Johnson is a three-year-old girl who loves dogs. Her parents are also dog-lovers, and together they help shelter dogs find new homes.

Dog shelters in many parts of Houston are currently unable to admit more dogs due to capacity issues. They are also reporting that there has been a decline in pet adoptions lately.

As a result, Dakota and her family are doing their best to help mitigate the problem by fostering shelter dogs.

The family provides their home, time, and lots of love to care for the dogs, while the shelters take responsibility for the medical expenses, food costs, and other supplies. By fostering these dogs, the Johnsons help them adjust to life outside the shelter.

According to Dakota’s mum, Laura, there seems to be a special connection between her daughter and all the dogs they have fostered. “And the little dogs and the big dogs will listen to her sometimes more than us.

She’ll teach them how to sit, how to crate train them, and by the time they go to their new families, they’re all set and training for everything,” she said.

So far, the Johnsons have fostered and helped 12 dogs find loving forever homes. They intend to continue their selfless service for a long time.
