Finally Some Good News! Texas Ends Greyhound Racing!

Finally Some Good News! Texas Ends Greyhound Racing!

Well, amid all the horror stories and abandonment, we finally have some good news, Texas will be ending greyhound dog racing soon! Very soon, in fact!

You know the dog racing track in Texas, called the Gulf Greyhound Park, has the worst track records when it comes to dog injuries in the USA.

Since 2008 over 2,000 injuries have been reported to have occurred at the Gulf Greyhound Park.

The poor dogs have suffered broken legs, head trauma and much more such that over 115 dogs were sadly euthanized because of their injuries.

But When Is The Greyhound Race Stopping? Find Out Here!

The Gulf Greyhound Park announced that it would be closing its doors on the 1st of January 2016. As for the dogs, well a majority of them have already been adopted! When greyhound racing stops, those dogs who haven’t found their forever loving homes yet can be adopted through the Greyhound Rescue Austin and Texas Adopt a Greyhound Society.

This means that with Texas gone, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, and West Virginia are the only states that still allow greyhound racing. Hopefully all of them will stop this soon. Please like and SHARE this good news with everyone you know!
