If your feed your dog Fromm Four-Star Shredded Entrée canned dog food, you might want to keep reading this.
Fromm Family Foods just issued a voluntary recall of around 5,500 cans of the Shredded Entrée dog food because of potentially elevated levels of vitamin D. Vitamin D can lead to adverse reactions in dogs of all breeds and sizes. Even though no complaints or cases of illnesses have been reported by customers yet. However, the company has decided to be cautious and recall these products.
It is known that ingesting high quantities of vitamin D can lead to vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss, drooling, increased thirst, and increased urination. In extreme cases, it can lead to serious health issues, such as renal dysfunction. If you have a dog that consumed this food and is exhibiting any of these symptoms, call a vet immediately.
Products in all four flavors were recalled. Besides this range, no other Fromm products were recalled. The company has stated that the recall was issued after an analysis noticed an error in the product’s formula. After identifying and isolating the error, the company has promised to fix this issue, and work to prevent similar issues from happening in the future. This recall was made after informing the US Foods and Drug Administration of the issue.
All consumers who have purchased Fromm Four-Star Shredded Entrée canned dog food should return the product to the retailer as soon as possible. For further questions, you should contact Fromm’s customer support team.
