Golden Retriever Mix Found In Construction Zone Dumpster Looking For Loving New Home!

Meet Ray, a sweet golden retriever mix who was found in a construction zone dumpster among wood, boxes, and dangerous materials that could have seriously injured or even killed him…but he’s a fighter.

A neighbor called Whitestown police department when they heard a dog barking for an extended period of time. Nobody dreamed they would find a dog in this construction dumpster, pressed up against discarded boxes, clearly frightened. They named him Ray.

Authorities say Ray is not a stray, but clearly has had a family of his own before and was intentionally put in this dumpster. It’s incredibly irresponsible of whoever put him there because if he had been hit by a 2×4, he could have been killed. Not to mention all the hazardous construction materials, nails, and other odds and ends that could have seriously injured him as he waited for someone to come rescue him. He endured a night of rain and cold until he was found and rescued from the dumpster.

People are asking, why here? Well, this town does not yet have an animal shelter so the Humane Society of Boone County say many dogs like Ray are ending up in these kinds of situations. People can’t take care of them anymore or grow tired of them and dogs like Ray get stashed in some very odd places where they are abandoned and forgotten.

Ray is now looking for a forever home where someone will love and protect him for the rest of his days. If you are interested in adopting Ray or providing a foster home for dogs in similar situations, contact the Humane Society of Boone County, IN for more info.
