How old is too old to be a dog parent? Is that even a thing? Grandma Hijar proved that even at 76, a parent still has a lot to offer to a dog in need.
Grandma Hijar was the golden age of 76 and had already mothered several children in her lifetime. She wanted to continue raising puppies but was afraid she was too old.
When her granddaughter Andre learned of this, she accepted the mission to get her grandma a new furry friend. Unfortunately, she was told by several rescue groups that her grandma was too old to qualify. This was unfortunate since she knew her Grandma was the perfect dog mom and she and grandpa would give a lucky dog a safe and happy environment.
Understandably, Grandma Hijar gave up, but her granddaughter had never stopped looking. She eventually reached out to a gentleman who was willing to give her grandparents a puppy to take care of.
Grandpa picked up the dog that was later named Princesa, and they captured Grandma’s reaction on camera.
She was overjoyed and did not see this coming. It warmed Andrea’s heart to see how happy she had made her grandparents. She knew they were the perfect parents. Now Princesa is a part of the family and everyone pitches in to help her already capable grandparents to take care of her.
This only goes to show that age should not be a defining factor when it comes on to dogs finding their forever homes!
