As they wrapped up an Austin Pets Alive! photoshoot one Saturday, volunteers Laura Berryman and Erin Einbender were told of a pup walking around in the neighborhood.
The pair, fearing one of their models had escaped, picked up some leashes and walked around the corner to find a friendly and surprisingly eager dog waddling up to them!
The adorable dog was wiggling cutely as he asked for pets. It was as though he was asking if they needed him to be a model for their photoshoot! He had a collar without any tags, so they leashed him and wandered around to try and find out where the pup came from. Their efforts didn’t bear any fruit, so they decided to bring the pup back and make him a part of their photoshoot.
The cute pup didn’t want to sit still at first, but after some nice treats and snacks, he was happy to begin work. He sat neatly and pulled some lovely poses! With a bandana tied around his neck, he looked even more charming. He even tilted his head whenever he heard something odd! Unfortunately, he soon got bored and decided the middle of the room was the perfect place to use the bathroom…
At that point, the women decided that the pup had had his fill of adventure for the day. They brought him to the Austin Animal Center, where he was scanned for a chip. None turned up, so the volunteers sent out posts across lost and found websites and forums. Thankfully, it worked!
As it turns out, the dog, named Zeus, does have a family, and they came to collect him shortly after. They have no idea how much fun Zeus had, and how he enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame and glamor – but Zeus remembers, and he had lots of fun!
