Puppies often seem like huge balls of energy. But how do those energy levels change over time? Here’s a general timeline
Birth to 10 Weeks Old
At this age, puppies are very much like babies, with endless levels of energy for exploration. This is when they learn to run, fight, and play, and they’re like whirlwinds of fun at this age!
10 Weeks Old to 16 Weeks Old
Puppies are still pretty playful at this age, but they’re also slowly learning to test you and learned boundaries. They may try ignoring or breaking commands or rules – basically like teenagers!
4 Months Old to 6 Months Old
At this age, a puppy will begin play-fighting a lot. They also start to fall into place in a social structure, especially in groups of dogs. They may also start to show fear at this age, so keep building their confidence!
6 months old to 12 months old
Your puppy will look more and more like an adult, but they’re still a little puppy! You will see more bursts of energy and testings of boundaries. They need socialization and exercise more than ever!
1 Year Old to 2 Years Old
Well, that’s the end of puppyhood! The playfulness of your dog, while forever a part of them, will become less impossibly energetic and they will act more maturely.
