Here's What You Should Do If Your Pups Get Accidentally Sprayed By A Skunk

It’s one of the worst things a pet parent can sniff. Skunk! And even worse – on your fur-baby! The next time you see your pup run after one of these stinkers, take a look at this article.

First, you’ll want to keep your pet outside so the stink doesn’t fill your house. Your dog is probably all charged up from what just happened and could rip through your house leaving a trail of scent that you’ll wish you would have prevented!

Next, check your pet for bites, scratches or for eye irritations. If you find any of these, you should make a trip to the vet. The spray won’t hurt your dog’s eyes long term, but if your puppy keeps rubbing at them, their eyes could get scratched in the process.

The following steps describe how to clean up and get rid of the offending smell, while keeping your dog safe and happy. Make sure your pet hasn’t contracted any diseases such as rabies and other side effects that could happen because of an altercation with a skunk.

This is such great information to have, but hopefully this situation never happens to you and your pet! Hopefully your next walk won’t have any black and white sightings, unless it’s a dalmation! Share this post with everyone you know!
