Honey is truly a miracle food. There’s little that it can’t do, and it can even give benefits to dogs.
Here are 6 ways you can use honey for your canine companions:
Wounds
Honey can be a great way to dress and treat a wound. Warm some raw honey and apply it onto the spot of the injury. Wrap the area up next so your dog doesn’t lick the honey.
Energy
For senior dogs who need a little pick me up to get them going for a walk, a bit of raw honey can be helpful thanks to its natural sugars. Don’t use too much, though!
Ear Infections
Mix a teaspoon of raw honey into your dog’s meals to lower the risk of ear infection, or even help treat a current infection.
Stomach Issues
Problems like constipation, diarrhea, and digestion issues can benefit from a teaspoon to a tablespoon of raw honey mixed into one daily meal.
Allergies
Allergic reactions are unpleasant for everyone, dogs included. Give your dog a teaspoon of raw honey daily to fend off strong allergic reactions.
Kennel Cough
Just like how honey helps soothe an irritated human throat, dogs can also benefit. Give your dog a teaspoon of honey daily while they’re sick.
Please do not give honey to any dogs under two years old!
