If you are the proud parent of a bulldog, you know that their short face and wide chest means they are prone to have breathing difficulties and shouldn’t be allowed to over-exert themselves.
The trademark look of a bulldog is their wrinkly face. Those wrinkles, if not cleaned properly may put them at risk for an infection’ the wrinkles are prone to trapping and accumulating moisture. The wrinkles must be kept not only dry but clean as well, if not they can develop a condition known as fold dermatitis.
When they are puppies, the wrinkles are rather shallow and easy to maintain, but an older dog’s wrinkles are deeper and may not be so easy – especially if your bulldog has no interest in you poking around their mouth and face! Watch as Reuben gets his face cleaned. You will see he isn’t a happy camper! Who would love a wad of tissue shoved in their face?!
