How This Family Helps Their Dog Overcome Anxiety

Having a dog with anxiety can be a very worrisome and uncertain experience for dog parents. However, this family found a way to help their dog overcome it!

Meet Myko. This rescue dog wears Halloween costumes year-round. This helps to overcome some of the fears he’s had since he was a puppy. Plus, he looks great! Myko’s forever family saw him online and knew at that moment he would become a part of their loving family. He was part of a high-kill shelter in South Carolina and had experienced neglect and abuse. He had warm brown eyes which tugged at the family’s heartstrings.

Now, Myko has a huge personality and has a very different life. However, he’s sensitive to sounds and sudden movements from ceiling fans, fireworks, thunder, water, and the deer in the backyard. His mom shared that they don’t know when they might experience triggers, however, Myko is a brave dog who is doing well in training.

When scared, Miko barks for a long time. However, since he got his form-fitting pressure clothing, he has calmed down quite a bit. They’ve even purchased an Eeyore Halloween costume with droopy ears that is both cute and effective. He feels better by just looking at them, especially since he knows that it means incoming treats.

This also helps to make his family feel better. His mom thinks it is great that they can worry less about Myko who is getting better every day. Soon, he will overcome his anxiety.
