If you’re an English bulldog parent, you might have asked yourself this question many times – how should you wean your puppies. It’s pretty easy though, all you need is patience 🙂
So when’s the best time to wean your puppies? Based on WebMD, “…weaning can generally begin between three and four weeks of age, and is ideally completed by about seven to eight weeks of age. Weaning can definitely be a stressful time for puppies and mother dogs and, whenever possible, should be a gradual and supervised process.”
What should you feed your puppies when you’re weaning them? According to WebMD, “During the weaning process, it’s a good idea to feed puppies the same high-quality puppy food they’ll eat throughout their growth period right from the start. Be sure to moisten the food with warm water or canine milk replacer to create a soupy gruel that’s appealing to their sensitive palates.”
According to the original uploader on YouTube, This video demonstrates the very first feedings of a newly weaning puppy. I like to feed them each individually for their first feeding because they are usually pretty scared. One on one first feedings help develop courage and trust and allows each puppy to have your undivided attention.” Take a look at this video on page 2 below!
