Labrador Mom Gives Birth to A Record-Breaking 17 Puppies In One Litter!

A chocolate Labrador retriever mom in North Carolina gave birth to 17 puppies in one litter! That’s a lot of puppies! They’re not all the same, the puppies are a mix of colors, 11 yellow (like their dad), 4 black, and 2 chocolate (like their mama).

This is the first time Bailey, the Labrador retriever, gave birth to puppies. Her labor lasted throughout the night. At first, they thought it may be a small litter after the first three puppies were born but as Bailey’s labor continued, she gave birth to a total of 17 puppies.

Lina Emory, parent of the dog that fathered the litter, says the world record litter size for labs is 19. The previous North Carolina state record was 16, so this was a record-breaking litter.

Bailey’s parents, John and Stephanie Wallace say, they will keep one of the puppies but will also sell them to individuals they deem fit to raise the labs. – Source.
