Labrador Retriever Learns That Barking At Buttons Gets Him No Treats, So He Learns To Push Them Instead!

If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that dogs are smart. They can learn to do a lot of amazing things and a lot of times all it takes is showing them how it’s done. Then…watch out!

Albert the yellow Labrador retriever is a great example of this. He loves balls. A lot. So his human came up with a contraption that would give him a ball when he learns to push a button. You could do the same things with treats for a dog who is all about the food.

Albert’s human says, “We are training our labrador Albert to live in the 21st century. As a first step he needs to learn how to to press a button. We built a device that creates the conditions that allow him to learn by himself.” That’s exactly what happened too! It’s pretty incredible.
