Twelve-year-old Ryan has been drawing since he was 2 years old. Ryan has autism, and his service dog, Zeus, has become his best friend and security blanket. Zeus lowers his anxiety and prevents his meltdowns.
Recently, Zeus has fallen ill. The 12-year-old German shepherd was diagnosed with a type of lupus, and now he spends a lot of his time in the ICU. To make matters worse, his medical bills are racking up and costing Ryan’s family thousands of dollars.
Ryan’s mom, Twyla, considers Zeus a key member of their family and an important lifeline to their son. When Ryan said he wanted to sell his art in order to help pay for Zeus’ medical bills, she was happy to show her support.
To earn money that would help pay for Zeus’ medical bills, Ryan set up an art studio in his parent’s shoe store. Every single day, Ryan is there drawing, painting, and creating his original artwork.
