Those who are disabled don’t experience the world the same way as able-bodied individuals do, but that doesn’t stop them from having a great time! Apparently, this truth extends to animals, too, as evidenced by Opal here!
Opal is just 8 months old and is a merle-coated dog. Born blind and deaf as a result of irresponsible breeding, Opal was adopted from a rescue organization in Idaho by Christina Bray and her spouse. And it’s clear that she’s very much in love with her family and her home!
Although Opal’s life comes with more challenges than able-bodied dogs, her loving, strong, and resilient spirit allows her to live that life to its fullest. And if you needed to see proof of that amazing soul, you’re in luck, because Opal’s Mom and Dad were able to capture video footage that personifies it perfectly!

We all know that pups get super excited when their Moms or Dads come home. They jump around, wag their tails, and demand attention. And even though Opal can’t see her parents walking up or hear the car pulling into the driveway, she still finds a way to notice!
What does Opal do? She sits in the front yard waiting for Dad to come home, pointing her nose in the air. Somehow, she can smell, or feel, or both, the difference between her Dad’s car and everyone else’s! She doesn’t get excited when any other car pulls up – only with her Dads.

As soon as Opal knows her Dad is home, she goes nuts with joy! She jumps around ecstatically, practically bursting with happiness. What an adorable greeting for Dad to receive! If you’d like to follow more of Opal’s adventures, you can check out her Instagram page here.
