Parents often experience a phenomenon known as “empty nest syndrome” when their children grow up and move out of the house. The house used to be full of life and noise, and then one day it is quiet and perhaps lonely.
Some parents have a hard time dealing with the emptiness, others are able to find things to fill the void. Maddie grew up and went off to be a student at Texas A&M. She was the person who mostly took care of Nina, a Maltese she got as a Christmas gift from her mom. Maddie’s mom, Rosie said that the puppy was her responsibility and there was a dog crate in Maddie’s room just for Nina.
But, as it turns out, Rosie fell head over heels for Nina and spoiled the fluff ball with gifts and treats! Maddie admitted that her mom spends too much time with Nina and it is as if Nina is her third baby! Once Maddie moved out to go to school, Rosie wasted no time converting her old bedroom into Nina’s own suite! Talk about a slap in the face!
When Maddie came home once to visit she saw that Nina had a brand-new comforter and a fancy new chair. Remember the dog crate? Well, that was removed! Maddie has adjusted to the new way of things around the house. After all, she did move out! It isn’t as if she can stop her mom from using her old bedroom while she is at school!
