Whether you are a pup or a person, the loss of a caretaking figure from birth in your life is always a traumatic one.
For many animals, this unfortunately results in the death of the newborn creatures, as they are unable to get the crucial care they need in their first few weeks. Fortunately, there are many instances where someone else stepped in to care for the baby animal.
Normally, it is us humans that decide to adopt or foster these helpless newborns, but that isn’t the only cross-species example of adoption! This vom Eisenherz German Shepherd named Cobra decided to take on some caretaking duties after these newborn kittens lost their mother.
Cobra is also taking her new role seriously as well! You can see it in how she is trying to lick clean her kittens the way a mother cat would do it. It is incredibly heartwarming to see this sort of love is universal across all species!
