JJ the golden retriever’s love, compassion, and caring nature earned her viral status on Facebook, a book deal, and the undying friendship and adoration of over 95,000 fans and every single resident at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House. Sadly, she passed away just before the end of 2017.
JJ had been an incredibly intuitive pup, and the combination of her training and intelligence allowed her to assimilate seamlessly with the rules of the house. She worked 12 hours a day and knew when to hide away, when she was allowed to say hello to a new resident, where to stay out of, when to stand as a respectful sentry, and most importantly, when someone needed a hug.
In the void she left behind, a new puppy named Ember has stepped in to learn to fill her shoes and follow JJ’s influential pawprints. Named for her spark and sass, Ember has been attending regular training and learning the ins and outs of the home. Before long, she will be ready for full duty, just like JJ! Residents of the hospice can hardly wait.
