Lucy the English bulldog went to the beach, her favorite place, but it’s the waves that she is a tiny bit afraid of! During her first trip, she won’t get anywhere near the water. As soon as she sees the tide rolling in, she makes a sharp turn in the opposite direction and stays a safe distance, but practice makes perfect!
In the beginning of the video, her person threw the ball which Lucy was actively chasing, but as soon as it neared the waves, she decided to take a sharp u-turn and stay far away. No ball was worth it enough to her to get close to the sea.
Lucy the English bulldog has two uncles who absolutely adore the water, but it seems she wasn’t a natural water-lover herself. You can’t really blame her, being a bulldog, swimming is not a natural thing without a life vest to keep that smooshy bully nose above water.
But Lucy and her people stay in the shallow area and after a lot of encouragement, Lucy not only grows to tolerate the ocean, but you can see she actually seems to love it! She chases her people along the shore and doesn’t mind getting her paws wet at all. She’s just having a great time. It’s wonderful to see her so happy!
