Man Chartered Chopper To Find Lost Pup. 1 Week Later The Lost Pup Surprised Him

We love our pups and would move the heaven and earth for them if we could. Russell Waters came pretty close to doing just that when his chocolate Labrador, Rodger, went missing. He chartered a helicopter to search all of the Waimakariri River and even offered his boat as a reward for anyone who found him.

But the search turned up no sign of Rodger, and seven days passed. Waters was beginning to think that his best friend was lost forever, although he knew he would never give up on him. Then, 300 meters from his home in West Melton, Rodger was finally found by a woman who heard him whimpering. Waters’ partner, Nicki Wyllie, called him with the news, and Waters was overjoyed.

Rodger has a dislocated right leg and an injured knee, and he is currently recovering at Vetlife in Rangiora. It may be a while before he is able to come home again, but Waters is just glad his best friend is okay.
