When this man bought a new home, he definitely wasn’t expecting to already have a tenant in his basement. Luckily, it wasn’t a creepy monster straight out of a horror movie, but the reality was far sadder than any film could be.
In the basement was a pit bull, chained up, with no food or water in sight. She may have been left behind by a squatter, but there was no way to be sure. When rescuers from the Stray Rescue of St. Louis arrived to pick her up, the pup couldn’t be happier! Her tail wagged a mile a minute and she strained against her leash excitedly.
Her enthusiasm quickly earned the pup the name Jumping Bean, and the name suited her more than they could have imagined! The pup has such amazing zest for life, always demands attention, is super affectionate, and is pretty much always happy. The whole way on the car ride back to the shelter, the pup could not stop being excited and ran back and forth, tail wagging!
Further investigation of her living conditions revealed that she had been living among dirty and trash. Her waste was all around her, so there’s not telling how long she may have been there, but it’s a good thing she was found because she likely wouldn’t have lasted long without access to food or water.
The pup remains at the shelter for now, but her rescue story is beyond adorable. We’re so glad she was saved and got out okay, and that she’s on her way to a better life.
