When Jethro, a police German shepherd dog was helping with the arrest of a robbery, he was shot and severely wounded after which the poor pup passed on. Now justice gets back and the man who shot Jethro is in hot soup.
Police officers are known to be brave souls on the planet, but braver than them are police dogs and Jethro, the German shepherd was a brave dog. A police dog’s fate is such that many of them don’t get to retire to happy homes at the end of their tenure. Jethro was out there helping with the arrest when the armed robber shot him.
The man who shot him has been arrested for shooting Canton Police Department canine several times, robbery and two counts of felonious assault, and breaking and entering. Jethro passed away and so the prosecutor is hoping Jethro will be treated as a law enforcement officer, hoping that it will add more time to the man’s sentence. This man could face up to 57 years in prison.
