Nurse Adopts Dog Whose Mum Passed Away In ICU

One major concern for senior citizens with dogs is what would happen to their dogs when they are gone. Sadly, in many cases, these dogs end up in shelters. One chihuahua mix named Jax was headed for the same fate when things took another twist.

Jax's mum became the patient of nurse Kimberly Still while unconscious in the ICU. Kimberly was caring for the woman in her last days when she learned about Jax through her family.

When Jax's mum passed, no one cared for him, so he was sent to a shelter outside of Atlanta, Georgia. To make matters worse, Jax was at the risk of being euthanized if no one came forward to adopt him.

When Kimberly learned about Jax's predicament, she wasn't happy and decided to track him down. Despite spending only a few days with his mum at the ICU, she felt the need to help the dog in any possible way.

Initially, Kimberly planned to help Jax find a loving forever home. However, she adopted the pup as she couldn't help but fall in love with him.

"The second that they brought him to me at the pound, I was like, 'I can never get rid of him. He is mine forever now.'" Kimberly said in an interview with Inside Edition.
