OC Raw Dog Recalls Limited Amount Of Its Dog Food Due To Salmonella Risk

Yet another recall and this time it’s the OC Raw Dog of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. They’re recalling limited amount of their dog food due to risk of salmonella. More here.

The OC Raw Dog is recalling 640 lbs. of Chicken, Fish & Produce Raw Frozen Canine Formulation because there’s a risk of them being contaminated with Salmonella. Although no illnesses have been reported, this is the only dog food that’s being recalled by the OC Raw Dog.

This recall is limited to Chicken, Fish & Produce Raw Frozen Canine Formulations packed into 6.5 lb. Doggie Dozen Patties, 4 lb. Doggie Sliders, and 3 lb. Meaty Rox with the lot number 1819 and use-by date of 05/05/16. Please check these codes on the bottom left corner of the back of the package. These products were distributed to customers in Colorado, Vermont, and Pennsylvania and sold to consumers through independent pet specialty retailers.

The risk of salmonella was detected by the Colorado Department of Food and Agriculture during the testing of a sample from the 3 lb. bag of “Chicken, Fish & Produce Raw Frozen Canine Formulations” Meaty Rox.

Salmonella can affect dogs as it is known to cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. If you find any symptoms and if your pet has consumed the recalled product, please contact your vet.

Please do not feed the recalled product to your pet and submit a picture of the package with the lot number to Olivia@ocrawdog.com for verification.
