About a couple of weeks ago, the Ohio shelter was home to 100 cats and dogs looking for a place to stay, a forever loving home. But days later, the entire shelter was EMPTY! Where did the fur balls go?
Every cage that once had a cat or a dog is completely empty. There are no meows or barks coming from the shelter anymore. So where did all these fur balls go?
In an effort to help find the animals’ forever loving homes, the shelter volunteers organized their annual animal adopt-a-thon, but no one was expecting such huge response!
Facility director Christine Fatheree said, “The line started at 6:30 in the morning. People brought lounge chairs. By the time we opened at 10, the line was 300-people long. People were coming from pretty far away and I asked them how they knew about the event. Of course, it was social media.”

Within the 90 minutes, all the 93 animals were adopted!
Never in the history of the center have all the fur balls found their forever loving homes! An older couple who were unable to adopt actually made a financial contribution to pay for the adoption of the first 50 dogs and cats!
Christine said, It’s not like other jobs where things can be put off. These animals can’t wait. They need homes. To know I was a part of this, it is such a good feeling.” In a matter 90 minutes 93 different cats and dogs went to their forever loving homes! How cool is that?!
