Meet Frank, the dachshund. Believe it or not, it wasn’t that long ago that Frank was paralyzed and couldn’t walk or run. He suffered from Intervertebral Disc Disease or IVDD but his parents made the decision to give him lots of “love, care and devotion” to get him to where he is today.
In fact, according to his humans, he had spinal surgery less than two months ago to help with IVDD and has now taken up hydrotherapy in the ocean to help him heal. The incredible thing is his humans report, “Until a week ago, we had to hold Frank in the water by a lead to make him do his hydrotherapy. Now he has learnt that doggypaddle is fun!! Not just therapy!!”
They also say, “Admittedly, he should have been on a lead over the grass – WAY too excited coz he could see the water, trying to run before he can walk! There is hope after IVDD!”
It’s just an inspiration to see little Frank the dachshund not just survive, but thrive! He developed IVDD, got the surgery, began hydrotherapy, and before his parents could believe it, he was doggie paddling on his own, and they actually had to hold him back, he wanted to move so fast!
This is a fur kid who is living every moment to the max. He loves fetching his ball in the water and it’s incredible to see him gaining mobility after everything he’s been through.
