As a pup parent, you’ll naturally want to provide your pups with the happiest and healthiest life that you can give them.
So, you work hard to ensure they receive regular veterinary checkups and have all their vaccinations up to date, and you regularly ensure that they live in a nice, clean environment.
But you can’t change the fact that fur balls are pretty messy! They can make a mess and spread that mess around, sometimes along with bacteria and viruses. In fact, a study conducted by BSF International showed that the top ten dirtiest items in a house are actually likely to include your fur ball’s toys and food and water bowls. But it’s isn’t too difficult to counter the germs that a pup might come into contact with or spread around. In fact, it will probably just take ten minutes to set things right.
So what’s the secret? The answer is bleach. It might sound strange, but animal shelters and humane societies tend to have bleach at the top of their wish list because it gets rid of everything – all viruses, germs, bacteria, and all that mess. All you have to do is take some time off to sanitize bowls, toys, and surfaces that get messy.
For messes, pour ½ cup of bleach into a gallon of water in order to create a mixture perfect for cleaning up surfaces. Let it sit for at least ten minutes before thoroughly rinsing and leaving to dry. For your pup’s food and water bowls, fill them with 2 teaspoons of bleach per 1 gallon of water, wait for two minutes, and then drain the bowls and let them dry naturally.
