Picture Of Terrified Pup Rescued From Death Row Is Going To Melt Your Heart

When Gregory the 2-year-old beagle pup was added to a euthanasia list at his shelter after he was found to have heartworms, things were looking bleak for the pup’s future. But that’s when Schenley and Joe Kirk, heads of the HOUND Rescue and Sanctuary (HRS) from Findlay, Ohio, stepped in.

On the 1st of May, Joe went to pick up Gregory and give him a ride to freedom. Usually, HRS crates all rescued dogs for safe transportation, but Gregory was so happy to be free that Joe ended up tethering him in the back seat, unable to bring himself to cage the pup.

The grateful, gentle pup leaned over to nuzzle Joe’s shoulder, and Joe was so touched that he snapped a few photos of the pup. Schenley uploaded them to Facebook alongside Gregory’s story – and the rest? History!

While the pup has to wait for a clean bill of health to be adopted, but adoption papers have been filed and the couple has donated generously to his treatment. It’s sunny skies ahead!
