It was a fateful day in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, when Christi Camblor, cofounder of Compassion Without Borders – which is an organization that rescues street dogs in the country – spotted an old, blind German shepherd pup lying on a torn up cushion in a pile of trash.
Camblor decided to cautiously approach the pup, and wasn’t sure how he would react to her, but the sweet pup was instantly friendly and trusting.
It only took several minutes before the pup seemed comfortable enough with her, and then Camblor took him into her rescue van to the vet.
The pup, who was later named Don Filipe, was starving, and he was also suffering from anemia and bad arthritis. And yet with love and care, his condition improved greatly – he began to gain weight and was able to start moving better, and he even got some of his sight back!
A month later, the pup was moved to Compassion Without Borders’ California rescue center, where a woman from Boston offered to adopt him.
What a happy ending to this story, as this deserving and beautiful pup now has his forever home. Like and share away!
