Presenting The 2015 American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards!

For the 2015 American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards, eight brave fur balls were honored for their service to humanity! You’ve got to see them!

While some fur balls are rescues who bring awareness to important animal rights issues, such as the puppy mill, others were honored for their service to veterans, while some were veterans themselves! Presenting the eight winners who received the 2015 American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards!

1) Rambo, Military Dog of the Year.

Rambo has his name on 622 searches while fighting in the Global War on Terrorism and he lost his limb as a result of an injury he suffered during his training.

2) Glory, Arson Dog of the Year.

This fur ball called Gloria has a keen sense of smell to investigate arson fires.

3) Chara, Guide/Hearing Dog of the Year.

Clara was previously used as hearing aid, but she developed a skill to accurate predict myoclonus-dystonic attacks before they even happen.

4) Axel, Service Dog of the Year.

Axel helps his daddy, Marine Capt. Jason Haag to recover from PTSD.

5) Glory, Search and Rescue Dog of the Year.

Because Glory couldn’t make it to the event, her mommy made sure she showcased her fur ball’s remarkable ability to track lost pets!

6) Hudson, Therapy Dog of the Year.

Will you believe that this pup was severely abused and left to die on rail tracks?

7) Dax, Law Enforcement Dog of the Year.

Dax is a police dog in Ashland, Maine, and he saved the life of police Sgt. Chris Alberini.

8) Harley, Emerging Hero Dog of the Year.

Harley has been in an abusive puppy mill for as long as he can remember and he lost his eye from a power washer used to clean his cage. Harley is the new face for “Stop Puppy Mills”
