Puppy Who Was Chained All His Life Gets A Taste Of Freedom

Life is hard for dogs living on the streets. While you may think that all dogs would live an easier life if they were adopted, millions of dogs go through hell with neglectful dog parents.

Some dog parents are abusive, and others are uneducated, resulting in a life of suffering for the dogs living with them.

Sidewalk Specials, a South African-based rescue organization, is working to combat this sardonic situation. While they educate locals and offer support to help them become the best dog parents possible, they often run into some tragic cases.

One tragic case is a 7-month-old puppy, Toby, who was tied to a cement block. The pup had spent his entire life tied to the block with no shelter from the elements. Sidewalk Specials discovered the dog while on a vaccine drive in De Doorns.

Staff members approached the dog’s parents to educate them on how to care for the pup properly, but they blatantly told them they didn’t want Toby. While it was sad that his parents didn’t want him, it was a blessing in disguise as he finally got to experience freedom.

Sidewalk Specials took Toby to the vet, got him vaccinated, and found a perfect home for him. Toby is now enjoying a life of freedom with his new family. He loves running freely on the beach and making friends everywhere he goes.
