R&B singer Jaheim Arrested And Charged With 3rd Degree Animal Cruelty

Jaheim, an R&B singer, has been arrested at his residence in New Jersey after authorities found 15 emaciated dogs in the house. He was charged with 3rd-degree animal cruelty as a result of this discovery.

The Hillsborough Township Police Department responded to a call regarding a puppy in distress in Jaheim’s neighborhood. When officers arrived at his residence, they found six dogs in crates in Jaheim’s driveway. All of them were starved, and their crates were filled with water and feces. One of the dogs was unresponsive when authorities arrived. The police officers called animal control and went inside to investigate further. There, they found 9 more dogs kept in the same conditions. Two of the dogs were in such a bad condition, that they had to be transported immediately to an animal clinic. Unfortunately, one of the dogs had to be put down.

12 of the dogs are pit bull mixes, two are American Staffordshire Terriers, and one is a boxer mix. Not much has been made public about the reasons as to why the singer was mistreating all these dogs, and why they were these specific breeds.

The 44-year-old was arrested on the spot and charged with 3rd-degree animal cruelty. He also had multiple unrelated warrants he was arrested for. He is a Grammy-nominated singer, and he has sold over 5 million records worldwide.

The 14 dogs who survived being rescued were examined by a veterinarian and given the necessary care before being put in the care of Long Hill Kennel in Hillsborough.
