Rescue Throws A Surprise Birthday Party To Celebrate 23-year-old Chihuahua

Bully is a Chihuahua born in 1999. Having lived through many historical events, his parents decided to throw him a party to celebrate his 23rd birthday.

The first 21 years of Bully’s life were spent with a loving family where he enjoyed playing outdoors and going for runs in the local park. His parents described him as a “big dog in a little dog’s body.” When his parent became old and could no longer care for him, The Mr. Mo Project, a senior dog rescue run by Chris Hughes and his wife, took Bully in.

Describing the dog, Hughes said he is “feisty, naughty, sweet, independent, gentle, calm, and he has an old man bark,” Despite his advanced age, Bully is still playful and mingles well with other Chihuahuas.

Bully tends to sleep more than the average pup due to his old age. Hughes said sometimes he’d fall asleep on the kitchen floor, a potty pad, or a comfortable bed in the corner.

All the senior dogs at The Mr. Mo Project get celebrated at every possible event. “We celebrate when dogs finish chemo treatments, birthdays, adoptions and have been known to have Christmas in July if we think someone won’t make it until Christmas,” Hughes said.

The home celebrated Bully’s birthday party with special decorations and offered him soft biscuits because he doesn’t have many teeth left. Afterward, he enjoyed a nap.
