Rescued Dog Who Weighed As Much As A Baby Elephant Makes Incredible Transformation

When you think of a large-sized dog, you might assume that they would weigh around 100 pounds. A But that was not the case for Trojan. His weight had spiraled out of control, and when he arrived at RSPCA’s Ashley Heath Animal Centre, he weighed 223 pounds.

For reference, that’s about the weight of a baby elephant. Besides his weight issue, he was dirty, and his fur was all matted.

Trojan was so overweight that his health was in grave danger, not to mention that simple tasks were almost impossible for him. The rescuers knew he had to lose weight fast. So, the only way to achieve that is by making him exercise and run around.

The people working at the shelter knew it would be a team effort, so they all helped Trojan adapt to a new, healthier lifestyle. Everyone worked so hard that, in just a year, Trojan lost 89 pounds. Now, at 132 pounds, the dog is healthier than ever before. And, he looks like a brand-new dog.

Nicola Anthony, the kennel supervisor, stated that Trojan’s new diet and exercise regime was very safe. There would be no long-term issues associated with the loss of so much weight. And, he assures people that, while Trojan might have lost weight, his personality is as big and bubbly as ever, if not more.

Now that Trojan is in tip-top shape, the last thing he needs is a forever home. Even though Trojan is ten years old, he is still a puppy at heart. And, the rescuers are sure he would make the perfect addition to any loving family.
