Rescuers Arrive In Time To Save Puppies From Freezing To Death

A large-scale dog neglect case in San Miguel County, New Mexico, was put to an end by local authorities and the Humane Society of the United States. They rescued more than 60 dogs.

The dogs lived outside in crowded, dirty pens surrounded by ice and other harmful items, including broken glasses. The dogs could breed freely because none of them was neutered, causing many of them to become pregnant.

When rescuers arrived at the scene, some dogs were welcoming while others were scared and tried to hide behind makeshift structures. One of those dogs was a Husky Puppy named Sven. Rescuers discovered Sven and his two brothers thronged in a wet hole, almost freezing to death.

The dogs were in bad shape, as there was nothing to keep them warm. They also lacked food and water. Thankfully, the rescuers arrived in time to take all of them to the vet for checkups and the necessary treatments.

Sven and his two brothers, Kristoff and Olaf, are doing fine now. The best part is that they live together now in a new foster home and have warm beds to sleep in at night.

If not for the timely intervention of the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office and the Humane Society of the United States, Sven and his brothers, along with several other dogs on the property, may not have survived to see today.
