A stray dog recently fell inside a 100-foot dry well in Kandari village, India. Locals at the scene reached out to the Gujarat Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for help. Raj Bhavsar, a volunteer at the rescue who received the call, quickly assembled a team to handle the rescue operation.
When the rescue team arrived at the scene, they discovered that the well was deep and dark. So they had to use fire torches from the village locals to descend into the well. Due to the depth and darkness of the well, the rescue operation was challenging, as they could only hear whimpers and wails but couldn’t see the dog.
The rescue operation, which took over an hour, saw one rescuer bravely going further down into the well until he sighted the dog. The rescuer quickly grabbed the frightened dog, covered him with a sack, and held him while the rest of the team pulled them back to safety.
Locals at the scene couldn’t contain their joy as they cheered and applauded the rescue team for successfully getting the poor dog out safely.
Surprisingly, the dog didn’t have any injury despite falling over 100 feet. Soon after they released him, he ran like he hadn’t been stuck in a well just a few minutes ago.
