Experts have stated that dogs adopt you and make you part of their family! Yes, they treat humans like family, and just like any family member, they demonstrate empathy too.
Dogs are emotionally intelligent and we all know it. But do dogs have each other’s backs? For example, if they spot another dog wanting help, would they help them? Here’s Part 1, in case you missed it!
So in Part 1, we learned that dogs pulled the lever that sent a tray of food to dogs they knew, but some weren’t keen on sending food trays to stranger dogs. This only proves that dogs are social animals, and apart from being friendly and loving, they know their friend would like what they would like!
So in short, while they know it feels nice to get treats, they even know that giving treats feels good too! Here’s something you probably didn’t know – humans are prosocial too, so are primates. Could it be that dogs learned it from us, or did we learn it from the dogs? What do you think?
