Pee Wee and Zachary are two Chihuahua pups whose lives took a sudden turn when their parent passed away. They wound up in a crowded public North Carolina shelter that couldn’t accommodate them, and soon had to be moved to Adoption First Animal Rescue.
As soon as staff and volunteers saw the two pups together, they knew that they shared a very special bond. To separate them would be unthinkable, given that they had spent every second of their eight years of life side by side. They constantly cuddle, and Pee Wee becomes very anxious and depressed when Zachary isn’t around, making her unable to make new friends.
Zachary is a bit better at being social, but he’s always there for the much shyer Pee Wee. He asks for pets and is very affectionate, while Pee Wee prefers having her own space and needs time to be comfortable with people she’s met. They have such different personalities, but they fit so well together!
A few weeks into their shelter stay, rescue staff decided to do something very sweet for them: a wedding! They wanted the two pups to be pampered and honored in a fairytale-like ceremony, and their bond was certainly one of a wedded pair anyway! They found Pee Wee a donated wedding dress and Zachary was put into a tuxedo.
Outside, the pair were placed on a blanket and their marriage was made official! These adorable pictures show just how cute and precious these two are, and that they are sure to be there by each other’s sides for a long time – something the shelter is determined to make certain of.
Pee Wee and Zachary now just need a forever loving home where they can spend their happy lives together and cuddle all day long. They absolutely must be adopted together and preferably in a quiet home without small children. They’d be okay with spending time with fellow pups, especially if they’re older ones, too!
Most importantly, these two pups want love and kindness, and a family who will care for them. If you’re interested, find out more here.
